I’m a retired Physicist, often working in physical optics. You can look me up on www.lens.org. 3D is not new to me; I made my first true hologram in 1976 in a lab. More recently, I have a Fuji W3. I’ve made my own lenticular prints from it (Fuji stopped printing lenticulars years ago), but it only has 2 lenses; nice for projection or barrier 3D but not ideal for lenticular. I also have a Lytro light-field camera. The Red is my second 3D phone (and the Fuji was my second 2 lens 3D camera); I don’t carry a Lytro or Fuji around with me, nor will I carry a Leia tablet; just too inconvenient. I’ve used the Red for about a year, and it’s easily the best compact 3D on the market, so I have lots of pictures on it. I’m sure the tools are there to build a depth-map and convert on my own to lenticular, but life is short (and aligning a printer to prisms is difficult) so I prefer to order some commercial prints before the door is closed. I have also done a fair amount of 3D projection; dual projector passive circular polarized at my theater.
PS: It would be nice if someone were to design a Lippman (fly-eye) dual-axis 3D print system; it would beat single axis lenticular by a mile. It should be possible in light-field.
