Android 15

Alot of Lume Pad 2 owners are likely praying android 15 (big update) will be released for the lume pad 2, and maybe some updated features with 2d to 3d conversion maybe an option to adjust depth. I was wondering why they have created a product but are not backing it. can we get an opinion as toif it should be updated and why it hasnt already happened thanks

I was going to blame Google and say Android updates are irrelevant and never bring new features other than existing features already integrated by major brands in their flagships. But this version is the exception, it brings really useful new features for tablets.

We didn’t get Android 13 or 14 - the Lumepad is brilliant hardware, but I am afraid it has been abandoned by Leia.

Hi all:

We do not plan to update the Lume Pad 2 to Android OS 15.

Unfortunately, I’m told there are some technical limitations preventing us from moving forward with that.

Otherwise, we have requested all available security updates for our current user base, yet the timeline for that release and OTA of patches is not in our control.

We will continue to push hard to ensure that our products comply with the latest standards.

Respectfully,

Eric

I understand Android updates are a hell for brands, and Google is worsening it by unsupporting drivers of certain components which would make the devices to downgrade its features. Only the bigger brands like Samsung can invest a lot of engineering to adapt the drivers to meet the new requirements of the Android update. And even that times, the device loses functionality because Google is copying already existing functions but bad, so the old same function on the flagship device was working better and easier than the “official” Android implementation.
