The plastic on my silicon protective case for my Lume Pad (2020) has started to crumble so I am looking for a replacement case. The official case is no longer available on Amazon. Could anyone recommend a replacement case that is still available? I like to make my stuff last. The tablet is still operating fine.
I’ve looked, but I haven’t seen any the are an exact fit. I think the 3rd party ones on Amazon are bogus. However, you can still find cloth sleeves that are a close enough.
I’m actually going to skip finding a replacement case because, sadly, I just noticed today that my Lume Pad has finally started to exhibit the battery swelling that others have complained of, which is causing the screen to begin to pop out, which means the tablet is not long for this world.
Still, I got a good few years of use out of it. Instead of the Lume Pad 2, I elected to get the Acer Predator Helios 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition laptop and have been focusing on getting various PC games to run on it with SuperDepth3D, but I still haven’t found a PC alternative to JakeDown’s excellent mpv-4v to let me watch 3D movies on it. Still, I am hopeful that this problem will be solved soon.
Acer has their own software that comes with it. The 3D player can play SBS movies no problem, and they do have a game driver, about 150 games work around there.
Acer’s SpatialLabs Player has some major issues, like for instance it won’t display subtitles correctly and also won’t let the user turn the incorrectly displayed subtitles off. So I’m still trying to find an alternative.
Yeah, I’ve had some issues as well. Like when you try to scrub to another timeframe, the 3D disables, it’s not the best user experience.
I would even consider making my own video player (or modifying VLC, etc.) but Acer has some strange licensing where only the professional models allow custom apps.
What? Where is the info on this licensing?
I have to look into it, cause they just have two new monitors. But I have the smaller older monitor and you can’t develop your own software unless you buy the pro model. Like the software is not supported. Kind of a strange decision.
OK well, I have, with some assistance, worked out a method to watch 3D movies with pretty much any media player you want on this laptop using ShaderGlass, ReShade and DLLs from the Dimenco Simulated Reality SDK. Unfortunately, the Dimenco site seems to not be working at the moment. Could be that Leia took it down? I know a version of those same DLLs shipped with some of the Acer software and that might also work but it seems concerning that the site for the drivers I know work is disappearing like that.
