I rip right from my 3d bluray cause I collect 3d bulray movies and take me a day to rip one movie at 30 gigs which is clear on lume pad and then I turn them in sbs which is about 4 hr take it from 30gig to around 7 gig and another 10 to make them full screen cause I hate movies with black bars and they look 10 times as better then a 2d to 3d…but for movie I don’t have I take yify movies then edit them to make them better
ok, wow. I thought my conversions were good but I had only viewed them on a Rokit3D phone… they aren’t great, LeiaTube does a better job, and realtime!

I’ve just been downloading the episodes of an anime streaming site I’m subscribed to and watch them on the Leia Player and let it convert in real time. Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, even old gems like Code Geass and Death Note look amazing in 3D. The realtime conversion is pretty epic. Sure you can nit pick about some smudges but overall it brings a different dynamic to most content that relies on CGI or animation done in layers.
That’s awesome. It would be cool if stuff like Crunchyroll and Netflix worked, but I understand they use DRM. I tried ripping the Ghost in the Shell (live action) 3D Blu-Ray and I got the MKV but sadly the app to convert that to SBS only works on Windows and I use Ubuntu. Plus it took 2 hours just to get the file, and I have at least like 30 or 40 3D Blu-Rays. But the real-time 2D to 3D is good enough, honestly.
Is it better than watching on your projector ? , I have this one and its awesome - Optoma UHZ50. I am getting the lump pad 2 but would love to hear your comments , thanks
I like it for consuming 3d movies but it does have some limitations, more to do with software and eye tracking than the device itself. Definitely will be crisper than a projector, and the fact its portable. I definitely would recommend it, if 3d media consumption is one of your use cases.
I dont think is product can move forward without removing the ghosting, its so bad that it makes the 3d unusable.
The resolution looks good, especially on the small screen (even for 1080p). Ghosting is more than DLP3D though, but it’s still acceptable. I had to get an arm mount to clamp to my desk, cause holding a tablet for 2 hours is a bit much. But it looks nice.
Is there anyway to reduce the ghosting imo…it’s very bad and until they sort this out it won’t go mainstream.
@Nima what is the future solution to deal with ghosting sometimes it’s so bad it almost makes 3d unwatchable. Can this be fixed or improved in the future ?
Cross-talk occurs when you view content that’s both high-disparity and high-contrast. Most content does not have these issues because it doesn’t have high disparity and contrast.
This is due to the optical structure of the display, so there’s no way to change this for this generation of hardware.
The way to eliminate the cross-talk is simple: either reduce the disparity, reduce the contrast, or both. Real-time content made for the Lume Pad 2 display in particular should have zero cross-talk if designed well. Bright, colorful content like cartoons or cel-shaded games with reasonable depth have zero cross-talk and look great on this device.
A white ball floating way off in front of the screen on a black background will look very bad on this generation’s display.
Future devices and displays will have much reduced cross-talk even outside of ideal conditions.
