Lume Pad 2 OS Upgrade: LumeUI Version 1.0.48

We got a response from ZTE.

ZTE Nubia Pad 3D’s firmware is based on the Lume Pad 2 firmware, and is almost identical, but has some necessary differences due to international distribution.

Due to the fact that ZTE sells the Nubia Pad 3D in so many countries, and in many countries like Japan and Thailand they sell it through major telecom corporations, the firmware must pass through regulatory approval for various countries and pass through QA for the telecom companies. Because of this, it may take anywhere between 1 and 6 weeks after we release the Lume Pad 2 firmware for it to roll out on ZTE Nubia Pad 3D devices.

Not sure yet about what the new firmware version will be called on Nubia Pad 3D, but I will update you when it’s available.

Feel free to reach out to ZTE on Nubia Pad 3D-specific questions like firmware release cadence. It’s out of our hands at this point.

Thank you for your reply.
I will try and contact ZTE.
I hope we do get the update soon as it is reported to improve functions.
But what will happen in the future with future updates.
Thank you very much for responding.

I have messaged ZTE asking when an upgrade will be released.
As soon as I get a response I will post it.

I hope that in the future a better way could be found to apply important updates to the Leia system that will come directly from Leia

Question, since there basically the same tablet, can’t we just download the update somewhere to install manually ?

Yes, l would like to know as well if it is possible we can install the update on our Nubia Pad 3D??? If not, who advises us when updates are available … Does that come from ZTE, is it automatic or do we get a post from Lleia about it here on the forums?
thankyou.

I am hanging to get the most recent update on my Nubia Pad 3D so l can experience the tablet in the same way Lume Pad 2 users are able to.

No, the firmware for Lume Pad 2 is not compatible with Nubia Pad 3D and vice versa. In addition, the only way to update is through FOTA which must be validated through the server and done through Android Update.

You’ll get a notification on your device and a red dot will appear on your Settings app icon.

I hope there is a protocol inplace between Leia and ZTE to inform and supply ZTE the latest update to the Leia system for the Nubia Pad 3D.
So ZTE can roll out the Leia system update to the Nubia Pad 3D at the same time as Leia roll out the same Leia system update to the Lumepad 2 so they are both updated in the same time period

I just noticed a system update is now available on my Nubia Pad 3D …
New firmware version: LPD-20WV1.0.0B06_EEA

Notes in relation to this update just simply indicate it improves device’s stability and performance. No additional specifics provided.

Nima, is this Nubia Pad 3D update equivalent to the recent os system update for Lume Pad 2 users with the improved functionality you detailed earlier for that update?

It should be, yes. Why don’t you install it and let us know if you can see all the same improvements. Easy way to tell is if there’s now a “File Manager” app on the device.

Hi I have just applied the update and only it talks about a system update.

There is no reference to improvements that were posted in the Leia system update.

I have not so far had a response from ZTE, may be next week.

I do not want to say any thing to ZTE until they respond to the question I asked as it may be confusing.

You could send the details of the Leia system update to ZTE and stated in the start of these posts and see how they reply.
It will be interesting to see their response.

I seem to remember there was a file manager app before this update, I was using it.

I will look at the stated changes at the start of the posts and see if I can notice any changes.

That app is called “Files” and it’s still there. There is now a new app in addition called “File Manager”.

Hi

Yes there are two apps.
Files and File Manager
Thanks you for responding so quickly

Confirming l have both a files and a files manager folder.

Perhaps this update for Nubia Pad 3D is the same as for the recent Lume Pad 2 update however one thing l notice initially without diving deeper is l don’t see any new sample 3D media files, for instance, that Nima was talking about in the list of new features incorporated in the Lume Pad 2 update.

Hi I will have to look later today

A quick way for Liea to know if their updates are getting to the Nubia Pad 3D, to get ZTE to supply a Nubia Pad 3D to Leia, I would have thought Leia would have had a Nubia Pad 3D for testing, assessment and QA.
Then Leia could see first hand what updates the Nubia Pad 3D is getting

Hi everybody,

I restarted my Nubia Pad today and had the bad surprise of not being able to use it anymore. ::

At first I thought it was the LeiaPix app that was being the issue, so I uninstalled it then tried to reinstall .

But now Leia Appstore won’t let me login…
I am an existing LeiaLoft user with my Google account, but when prompted, there is no “Google button” to push for restoring my account.

When pushing the Login button I get an “authentication error”. But I do have a very stable internet connection so this isn’t the issue.

Reading this topic I did the latest system update. Still, no luck.

Please HELP!

PS: Cleo and Roger, good to see you on this forum. I’m c.j. and thank you for the many likes on LeiaPix.
