Lume Pad 2 pictures to Nintendo 3DS

As you know, the cameras on the Nintendo 3DS are pretty bad. Here is how to

use a LUME PAD 2 to make pictures for it.

  1. take pictures on LUME PAD 2
  2. run StereoPhot6oOptimizer app (from https://share.duttke.de/stereo-photo-optimizer.apk)
  3. click white spot at bottom
  4. select picture from thumbnails
  5. click Add
  6. select Export image
  7. transfer picture from Pictures directory to Mac/PC
  8. run SPM program on Mac/PC (from http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stphmkr/)
  9. select File → Open Stereo Image
  10. select Edit → Resize
  11. set to 640 by 400
  12. select File → Save MPO File
  13. select File → save Left/Right Images
  14. rename MPO file to HNI_00xx.MPO (xx is a number of your choice)
  15. rename left file to HNI_00xx.JPG (use same number here)
  16. copy those files to the 3DS SD card in /DCIM/101NIN03 directory
  17. view with picture/camera program

I agree it is a lot of steps on several systems, but I haven’t found something easier (yet).

Sweet!!!

I tried getting something to work years ago and never could! Thanks so much for sharing this!

Do you have to downsize the images to 640x400? What’s the largest size image the Nintendo 3DS can open in 3D?

My N3DS can do fairly big ones, but seeing as the screen is small, pixel-wise, might as well shrink the picture (to more than big enough) and save the space.
