Thank you for everyone’s understanding and patience with our fixing LeiaTube.

It turns out the fix took a good deal more work and time than in the past. I don’t have any details to share except the estimated release date is 4/22/25 - shortly after the Holiday on 4/21/25.

Thanks. So the app doesn’t have the error, and is sort of working. However, I loaded a 4K YouTube 3D video of mine, and in LeiaTube it looks like it’s running at 720P. The quality is so bad, it’s not even watchable.

@cyberpnk pls message me the link - or email it to help@leiainc.com I see some loss in resolution, that is expected with the SBS conversion, but I would love to see your example and share it with engineering.

Thanks @cyberpnk ! I shared this with QA and engineering. Seems like it’s in SBS half 1080p for 2D device that isn’t 4K, which after conversion is going to be even less than 720p, as I understand it. We have experts now looking at it though and when I hear back from them I will update you.

Thanks a bunch. It’s not a 2D conversion, though. It’s a native SBS 3D video on YouTube. The source is 4K resolution (with half-width side-by-side). On LeiaTube it looks like half 1080P, or perhaps half 720P, which makes it unwatchable. Thanks for looking into it.

I have been checking videos on YouTube. There seems to be loss of resultion when sharing with Leia Tube.
If you look at the YouTube video Peru 8K HDR 60 FPS (FUHD) By Jacob + Schwarz
you can clearly see the loss in resultion when first watching the YouTube video then shared with LeiaTube
Could is problem please be resolved.

Hi yes there is a clear reduction in resultion.
Try playing on YouTube
Peru 8K HDR 60FPS (FUHD)
Film by Jacob + Katie Schwarz
Look at it first on YouTube then share it again with LeiaTube, you can see the difference

Yeah, it’s possible I did something wrong when I uploaded my video. Cause I checked some other ones, and they did look better than mine. But I’d have to test more. Something still feels off, cause my video on the YouTube website looks good, and also works on Quest 3 with the YouTube3D app.

Did you look at the YouTube video I talked about on the Lumepad 2, you can really see the resalution drop from watching normally on the table then shared with LeiaTube.
I hope this can be resolved
