Hi thanks for the feedback, so does it have LeiaPix and LeiaTube.
Is it compatible to pictures from the Nubia Pad 3D and Lumepad 2 and Lumepad 1
Is this a Nubia Pad 3D 2 under another name or a different device
I just got mine. Probably check it tomorrow.
Great please let us know it compairs to the Nubia Pad 3D, Lumepad 2
Thank you so much. That’s exactly the information I was looking for. I’m still out until at least a Half-SBS 3D Video can be played without compromising resolution. This probably would require a 4K native screen resolution. Talking about (Half-)SBS 3D video playback:
Bye bye - may be see you with the next generation ! Why the hell no one ever makes such a 3D device with a player that decently can play 3D movies? Also I guess it won’t play .mkv video files and won’t support (e)AC3 sound and won’t play any files from a SMB network share? And you can’t just use third-party player software because you would lose the eye tracking. Sorry for my frustration, but it’s so disgusting
I’ve been thinking about making a stereo 3D player, cause right now nothing work with new hardware. I have some tests working (it loads images right now) but it’s probably not a huge amount of work. Just have like a million projects right now.
Wow! Great news! What this tablet really NEEDS, is the ability to turn 3D mode for SBS content on screen - this will open it up for all the existing content, streaming, Youtube 3D, game emulators etc. Any existing videoplayer will work, it should simply show SBS image full screen, and the tablet will pick it up from there…
Mine will arrive in 3 - 5 days…
I looked into it. It’s not possible on Android for security reasons (otherwise rouge apps could screenshot your banking details, etc.). However, I should be able to stream SBS content from a PC.
I guess it should be possible with accessibility settings - otherwise apps like “Vivid gestures” or “Screen recording” could not work at all. But I’m not a coder, unfortunately
Or, may be, some sort of sandbox? An app that can display another apps inside “full screen window”, like virtual machines & antiviruses do? In this case there’s no need to even analyze if content is SBS, just enable 3D for anything inside app window.
Hello Thomas, your conclusion that a 3rd party software will not support the eye-tracking is wrong and it’s already proven as wrong. Looking to the special released versions of the 3rd party 3D-VideoPlayer for the LumePad 2/NubiaPad you can see it supports eye-tracking and more over it seems that this is even not necessary to code anything for this as it seems automaticly working as soon the device turns I to 3D, which IA also logic because—>no eye tracking enabled–>no 3D possible at all.( Which is sad as I would like to have an option like "middle-view 3D enabled when it’s dark, which would make 3D at least possible for an specific angle when it’s dark and the eye-tracking does not work).
(This also rises question why they not include an infrared-light to detect the position of the pupils, should be an easy thing, so it will also work at night and is likely even more easy to track than in day-light as pupils are so dominant under infrared-conditions)
so I think it’s just a matter of time until this 3rd party 3D-Player will be adapted to this pad…i use this player on LumePad 1 and 2,it’s genius, supports subtitles, audio-channels and also can play all 3D-formats making it possible to play HOU and SBS on these tablets easily.
Seeing this 3rd party player should really embarrass the developers with their poor limited included players!
Yeah, I might have to work on a 3D player next. I feel like I might be one of the only people that knows how to do it proper, nothing seems to work 100% right now.
this would be amazing and a many here would be grateful for it, why not people let donate you 5$ each to get it…I think many would do and you would be rewarded as well. Did you ever offer your abilities to the developers?
Well, if I can do it, it will likely be a paid app. Still need to do some research to make sure everything will work right. Not just for the tablet, there are a few other 3D devices I have with poor support.
Will it be able to play YouTube3D? For example, open YouTube browser page within app window and add a button to manually turn on 3D mode when user turned SBS video full screen?
(in order for YouTube to show 3D videos as SBS on mobile, link should have tv#/ in front of watch?v= , for example YouTube TV )
That’s one of the things I need to do research on. Maybe take a look tomorrow.
So I just unboxed it. Interface is (mostly) in English, but the software sort of doesn’t make sense. In any case, I was able to test some of the demo content that came on the device and IT’S CRAZY!!! Totally blows the Lume Pad 2 out of the water. Crystal clear resolution, very minimal ghosting. It’s a HUGE difference. The 3D effect also seems much greater (perhaps just a result of having almost no ghosting). Really a next-gen device. Letting it charge now and I’ll copy some content and test it. I did try to take some 3D photos and they looked pretty bad, but maybe the lighting indoors at night is not good. Otherwise it seems worth the money.
Count me as alpha, beta & gamma tester
Hi
Thanks for your reports of how the device works.
I hope you manage to take good pictures, please let use know.
Is there any way to get Leia apps on it, like LeiaPix and LeiaTube
All the best Roger
I’m not sure about the apps. There seem to be two “app stores” but they are all in Chinese and I don’t see anything related to 3D. I think I might need a Nubia account for something else, so I imagine there are other apps, or maybe I just can’t read Chinese. I did try a SBS movie, but it was MKV multi-audio and had the same issue as Lume Pad 2 where there was no sound. The 3D looked nice. It also has 2D to 3D which seems to work for local video files, Need to test more.
Thank you
I look forward to your observations.
The two Leia apps I wanted were LeiaPix and LeiaTube
Having Leia Appstore on it would have been good
Can it display pictures taken on the Lumepad 1, Lumepad 2/Nubia Pad 3D
Also beeing able to take good pictures is very important
All the best Roger Burley
