Exactly that! What is the point of having a next-generation display if it will only work on a hit or miss basis? They decided to market this device to gamers and people who might spend thousands of dollars to play around with 2D to 3D conversion (probably for a limited time). They decided to implement a one-click 2D to 3D fake conversion first instead of a one-click native 3D SBS display.
I would like to open VLC or any player of my choice, open my 3D sbs files wherever they are, go full screen and press a button for the glasses-free 3D experience. But that even doesn’t seem to be on their list.
Have anyone noticed new glitch after recent firmware update? Lower left quarter of the screen seems to flicker in 3D still mode (not when movie is played or converted). It can be “fixed” by finding exact spot for the tablet relative to the eyes, but before new firmware there was no flickering whatsoever… :\ On the other hand, new firmware noticeably improved 3D conversion speed with Youtube and browser, no more stuttering or sound drops.
I’ve seen this with multiple monitors from different companies (using different display tech) so it appears to be some limitation of the way glasses-free 3D works right now.
So I tested it. The update fixes the 3D conversion on the YouTube website in Chrome (and I assume other web players) BUT NOT in the YouTube app. The games I tested were already after the update, where I mentioned some games were playable at 30 FPS. So this definitely makes the tablet a lot better now that YT web at least works now without stutter or audio glitches.
Hi from Italy, I just received the tablet. Software update received almost immediately and now the lower left part ot the screen vibrates orizzontally in 3d mode. It also happens in portrait mode… Hope for a new firmware.
3D coversion introduces studder in Youtube . Web youtube works better but non perfect. I tried many browsers and the best one is Samsung browser …
I believe that it is a bug in the firmware update. If you switch from 2D to 3D then for about half a second the 3D image is fine, then it starts vibrating. So it must be software, but who knows ? There is no app to fine tune the 3D system, face recognition, etc. Skilled user should be able to use such an app. NUBIA should fix this problem and also give us a 3Dsystem tuning app.
All inkjet printers have an app to align printing heads, why not a 3D screen?
In any case this remains an hypothesis. Maybe other owners have observed this problem?
Let me insist in trying to describe the BUG, just look at the astronaut 3D picture. It is vibrating… now if you put your hand parallel to the screen at about 1 cm from the screen and in front of the two front cameras that look at your face, the vibration stops and sometimes the 3D picture if perfect, then after half a second it switches to 2D. I think that it should be software.
Sure - that’s because when the camera (only left is used by the way) cannot see your face, tablet briefly goes into “normal 3D mode” without eye tracking, like it was on RED Hydrogen & Lume Pad 1. But for sone UNEXPLAINABLE REASON software just forbids the 3D mode to work without eye tracking, so no 3D in complete darkness & this new glitch…
The screen is a lot better than the Lume Pad 2, but not quite as good as the Red Magic. But it’s bright and can be used landscape or portrait. If I’m honest, the software isn’t great either, but you can at least turn the headtracking off if you want.
Hi thanks for your message I will have a look. I emailed ZTE China and asked when and if the Nubia Pad 3D ii will be released in the Uk as it is advertised on their website, they replied, subscribe to their newsletter for the release date.
Also the same response for the RedMagic 3D table explorer addition
So will there be a release on the Nubia Pad 3D ii as it is on their website
I sent emails to REDMAGIC customer care. They know of this new glitch and they are working for a fix. In addition if you look carefully you see a sort of sensor between the two selfie cameras. It could be a sort of infrared sensor, but it does not emit any IR light. Maybe not used at the moment.
Thanks for the update
Also they advertise the Nubia Pad 3D ii, but both are Chinese version.
I think I will wait until next year to see if there is a global version
I checked through the details of the Nubia Pad 3D ii, and I think this is not the Nubia Pad 3D ii as the battery size is the same as the Nubia Pad 3D
