Does it have Leia apps or will it get Leia apps
Hey Roger @Rburley it won’t have Leia apps as you do on the Lume Pad 2, no. They certainly may have tech from us for their Player and Viewer. If you and other customers let Acer and others know you want Leia apps, I bet they will listen!
Actually Acer doesn’t listen much in their forums, don’t respond or have much interaction there. I love my SpatialLabs devices but the support is like non existent. People have expressed their concerns many times and Acer doesn’t seem to care much if they do they are keeping it silent. It keeps being said the forums are for the community and Acer doesn’t have much interaction there
I hope Leia will have more devices may be via the Nubia path.
The Nubia Pad 3D 3D is great.
Waiting to see when the Nubia Pad 3D 2 is available in the UK
Thanks for your response
I find the cameras on back-side of the LP2 to be rather vulnerable to scratching. I have stuck some pads on the four corners of mine to prevent this. On future models please consider having the cameras protected in some way.
@Bastion agreed that the back cameras seem exposed but they are robust. We do not get repair or defect reports on the cameras. Still, appreciate the feedback and will let Engineering know that is a concern.
Hello. I am new here, and actually just got my lume pad 2 today. I want to start off by saying I love the device and think its awesome. The fact that this forum even exists and that the developers are as interactive as they are with their users is great. As a software engineer myself, I have a high respect for that.
Now for my request… I am know this has been asked several times here and I apologize for beating a dead horse as I from what I have seen the answer is no, but I want to put it out there and at lease gleam some more information from why it cant be done if the answer is still no. I really think there should be a 2d to 3d conversion for anything on the tablet, or something like it on the lume pad 2 like the the new nubia pad has. I chose this tablet because I think you guys have the best software for your product.
Now from what I have seen you guys listed a few problems with the idea like chipset capabilities, privacy/security, and quality. But what I don’t quite understand is that it seems like all the pieces are already there. This could be a misunderstanding on my part but it seems like the tablet can in fact translate 2d to 3d real time, correct? That’s how the Leia player can playback 2d videos in 3d I would think, so I would also think the chip in the pad 2 can handle this job. In terms of security and privacy, I would think that would be a non issue since the conversion data never leaves the tablet. Quality wise, I don’t think there would be too much scrutiny over that, people just want to use that 3d display as much as possible, and if they want high quality 3d then they should use the apps that support that. Otherwise I think just the visual appeal of attempted 3d on other apps and such would make a lot of people including myself really happy.
If you guys don’t want to develop an OS level hook like ZTE, what about an app launcher? so that you can add apps like steam link and enjoy your 2d games in a 3d manner?
Please feel free to correct any of my misunderstandings. I appreciate your time and the work you do.
Hi Eric
It looks like the Nubia Pad 3D 2 will not be available worldwide, and the Red Magic 3D pad is the replacement.
Will it have the Leia Appstore, with LeiaPix, LeiaTube and Leiaplayer and be able to show MPO pictures and work like the Lumepad 2 /Nubia Pad 3D or will it be very different.
If that is the case it is very different where you Leia customers go for there next Leia app compatible device, or is this the end of the line
Hey Roger @Rburley! Red Magic 3D will have its own Ecosystem, of which some applications will be a continuation of our Leia EcoSystem software, such as the Player and Model Viewer, and 3D Conversions. We are currently not planning to introduce a new generation of the Lume Pad. Instead, we are collaborating to enable several other partners to carry the torch from where we have reached with the Lume Pad 2. Some of these partners may not choose to use the Leia Ecosystem, but rather, their own systems and third-party systems for many sound commercial, technical, and marketing reasons.
Hi Eric
Thank you for the feedback.
Would I be able with other devices to download the Leia apps like LeiaPix, LeiaTube and the Leia Appstore to the new device.
I really like the Leia Apps
I have found a site selling the Nubia Pad 3D 2, that has all the Leia apps
Should I wait and see what next 2025 brings
All the best Roger Burley
Thanks Roger @Rburley !
I’ll let our team know we have customers that want Leia apps for their 3D devices.
Best,
Eric
Hi Eric
Thank you
All the best Roger Burley
Hey DJ @venom889 - The 888 in the Lume Pad 2 is not capable of doing this realtime all content conversion that the Nubia 3D 2 and RedMagic can do with an 888 gen 2. It’s first a chipset capacity limitation and what an OEM can do with the OS, which we, as a third party do not have the access to do. We are now in the position to support OEMs to deploy our SR Technology as they see best and most marketable.
Hi Eric
Would it be possible to make the Leia apps download enabled for device’s with Leia technology.
All the best Roger Burley
Hi Roger @Rburley currently we do not plan to make LeiaPix, LeiaTube or LeiaAppstore available for other devices with Leia SR tech direct to customer, however, please let those companies like REDMAGIC, ZTE and ACER know that you want these apps!
I will pass on your feedback that you and others want these apps so that Leia can also share this feedback with our partners.
HI Eric
Thanks for the feedback
Can you help with these questions
Are the RedMagic 3d pad and the Nubia pad 3d ii the same except that the Nubia Pad 3D ii has all the Leia apps
Do they both have lcd screen with the same resultion.
Do they both only display 3D in landscape or can the RedMagic display 3D in portrait and Landscape
All the best Roger
Thanks
Hey Roger @Rburley ,
From what I have been told, since I do not have either of these products:
- The two tablets are the same but Leia only handles the 3D.
- As for Leia apps, Leia only supports the 3D function and both of these tablets don’t have Leia applications on them.
- Yes, the both have the same resolution.
- Both tablets can display 3D in portrait.
I hope this helps!
Best,
Eric
