This is built in already. “3D Expansion Screen”, makes tablet a wireless 3D monitor for PC

In any case, I’m trying to write my own commercial software, so I’d prefer it to be legit.

Awesome!

So pending is a better 3D player for movies?

Is 3DS emulation possible on it yet ?

Well I’m in the research state right now, have a few tests but it’s very early. But most likely will start with a video player. Not touching 3DS emulation, Nintendo is the actual Mafia.

Okay, so I was able to remove all the Chinese bogus apps and get Google Play. Yeah, this is super premium on par with Samsung/Apple. Sadly I do notice some lag/delay with the 2D-to-3D conversion, like on YouTube. It’s still fine (most of the time) but every now and then it might skip for a split-second and/or the audio could be off. Though overall I’d say it works well, just not perfect.

Should have assumed this, but the auto 2D-to-3D doesn’t work on DRM content. I bought a movie on YouTube and it’s just a black screen when 3D is enabled.

How can you even watch YouTube from its overbloated with ads app? YouTube is absolutely unusable without adblockers, SponsorBlock skip plugins, ReturnDislike plugins and other things that Google has ROBBED us from. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: Use YouTube ReVanced and forget words “DRM”, “Paid subscription”, “Ads” and all other like a bad dream that they really are.
The world we are living in has no tax on AIR only because corporations have not figured out yet how to plug an air counter into our throats :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: Do not play by their rules; for them, you are a SLAVE, a PRODUCT, an animal to be milked. You want that? I think not.

I’ve paid for YouTube Premium for years. Can’t remember the last ad I’ve seen. You’re only the product if you want to freeload. Your choice.

Also, does anyone know where the default apps are (like on a store to download)? I deleted the 3D slideshow by mistake and I can’t figure out how to get it back. I know I can factory reset, but that’s annoying at this point. Is it anywhere to download?

I remember people were asking about 3D viewing software, I created a thread here with my progress so take a look if interested: Rendepth - 3D Viewer App

Also, I did more tests of the 2D-to-3D conversion. It works amazing on local files, tried some 1080p movie MP4s, and large photos, etc. No problem. But I noticed when trying it on live content (YouTube, websites) there is some stuttering. Sometimes it’s okay, sometimes it can be worse. But it will skip or hitch for a second every now and then, and can become annoying on longer videos. Overall still an amazing feature, but I hope they are able to do a performance update, cause it does break the effect.

So to confirm, does this still not work with streaming services like Prime, Netflix, Disney+ etc?

As far as I can see, no. DRM protected content like from Netflix does not work. I only tried YouTube Movies, but I’m pretty sure they all work the same.

So would there be lag using the 2d convert with game streaming apps like PlayStation remote play and moonlight? This is the decision factor for me

I’ll charge up the tablet and I try it. I have a Geforce Now sub, should be the best performance possible, if it even works. I do know that YouTube it not full speed, and that there is either skipping/buffering or it plays and the audio is out of sync. Which makes it really annoying or almost unusable for long videos, especially with voice acting. I haven’t tried gaming.

Awesome thanks so much
I got a game pass sub which I’d like to try to when I get the tablet

Hi just wondering if you got around to trying that out? You said that you got lag what refresh are you running at? I believe OP mentioned he had no lag at 60 and 90 hz. Kind of a letdown if it can’t keep up on games

One sec.

Okay so I tried it, kinda a mixed bag. The 3D mode does enable, and looks good. There is a pretty nice amount of depth, and it looks more defined then what I’ve seen on 2D photos. However, performance is still an issue. Geforce now looks like it can go to 90 FPS (maybe more) on this tablet, in 2D mode, and it totally smooth. In 3D (when attempting high refresh rate) it’s just struggling. Sometimes it will look good for like 4 or 5 seconds at a time, and then skip, or drops to a lower FPS. If you lock the VSync to 60 FPS it’s almost playable. Like it’s really close, but noticeably not 60 FPS. Perhaps there are some slower type of games this could work on, I tried Cyberpunk 2077 and it wasn’t amazing. Granted, it’s good enough to play, maybe I need to try more games, but it’s obviously overloading the tablet. The only thing that worked 100% was locking VSync to 30 FPS. In this case, the 3D conversion is full speed, meaning it’s not slowing down the game. However, this is still only 30 FPS, and then there is added latency from the game streaming, but at least there is no choppiness or skipping. Though I guess perhaps playable (e.g. for non fast paced games). I will need to test more. Granted the 3D looks great, so perhaps there is something with the settings to help. I don’t know.

Thanks a lot for this information. That’s a shame and I wouldn’t expect that from it but it’s the same with the SpatialLabs go so this stuff isn’t mature enough and hopefully will become better as we are just beta testers for this technology. I think I’ll hold off for now
