We’ve offered you a refund if you’re not happy. Feel free to discuss this with customer service. There’s nothing else to discuss in the LeiaPlayer 4.3 thread about this topic.
ya thats because amazon refuses to post bad complaints. it harms sales
ok what ever
LumePad 2 has been one of my favorite purchases of all time. I don’t know what dude is talking about with all these complaints. I had three movies in 3D for my Quest 2 before this. Since getting the LumePad, I have about 40 3D movies and successfully watched most of them. My collection is loaded with blockbusters that look amazing.
The main issue I had was not formatting my memory card correctly in the beginning. And I was unsuccessful in getting another computer or device to recognize and reformat the card. The LumePad 2 does have access to the card, but I have to limit transfers to under 4gb and it will not allow me to reformat either.
Rather than buying a whole new memory card, I have just been aware of file sizes and I have a workaround for the 4gb limit. It really only applies with some large movie files. I use the Rar app from Rar Labs and I will archive the file but use the advanced options that allow you to specify to create multiple volumes for a single file and set a maximum gb size for each volume. So now I can take a 20gb movie file and convert it to be ten 2GB files that can be transfered to the memory card. Whenever I want to view that file, I just transfer them back and unpack the first volume. Until this card fills up, that solution is working fine for me. I won’t make the same mistake again in my next memory card purchase.
Does LeiaPlayer 4.3 support DTS codec yet? I couldn’t find any update on this. Thanks.
No it doesn’t.
Is that something that is being worked on? Or it will never be supported? Is it a licensing issue? I am not sure why VLC can support it but Leia Player cannot. On other media players you can install codec packages which support DTS. Just trying to understand where the roadblock is. Thanks.
Not currently, and we have nothing to announce.
It’s similar to asking why LeiaPlayer supports 3D on Lume Pad 2, but VLC does not.
Leia is a 3D company that focuses on making 3D-specific features. The core of our media player is the Android ExoPlayer, which is the default media player in Android. While we’ve extended ExoPlayer to add 3D features as that’s our specialty, we don’t have any expertise in creating our own codec decoding implementations.
We recommend asking VLC contributors or other Android Media Player creators that support the formats you want to add support for Lume Pad 2. Or, alternatively, convert your video files to a codec that works on Android by default.
Since you mentioned the Lumepad 2 uses ExoPlayer, I pulled up this site for ExoPlayer supported formats,
And it states that ExoPlayer also support the use of software decoders libraries including FFmpeg library which supports DTS, DTS-HD, etc. So, this goes back to expertise in implementation?
Yup. If it’s added to ExoPlayer by default we would simply update the library and it would work, but additional work on non-3D features isn’t planned.
I was able to use MPV player and DTS audio works as well as subtitles.
You could make a product that sharts gold and someone will complain it’s not shiny enough. You guys were even nice enough to offer him a refund. I know you have to keep it professional and can’t say it so I will. Clamo, quit being such an rude demanding and entitled person. You act like you were raised by social media so take that toxic crap back to FaceBook.
I learned a long time ago not to believe marketing hype. Either the producers never used the product or they don’t understand how you want to use it.
Thankfully the developers have FAQ on their web site and provide this forum. Even after researching and purchasing this product I am finding it much better than expected after working with it. I found new use cases and limitations. Most of the time the limitations have nothing to do with Leia products and services.
They could have been like Apple and dumb their products down for the masses and provide limited support for max profit. I get that and I am an Apple fanboy. I get Leia’s approach and I am on my way to Leia fanboy status.
Thanks for mentioning the 3d issue. I just deleted VLC from my LP2
I use VLC to play multichannel audio files. Works well for that, and makes use of the multi speakers in the pad.
I am suddenly not able to sign into the Leia Link part of Leia Player… Please help.
Will there be a 3D depth slider in LeiaPlayer for contents that is converted from 2D to 3D videos using the LeiaPlayer? That would be an excellent feature. Thanks.
Where can we find what video specifications are supported?
We have plenty of stereoscopic 3D 360 - up to 7680x7680.
But I can’t find what resolutions and FPS are supported.
